FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
Q & A with the HMJBQ: What the heck is jug band music anyway? A: Jug band music is home made music. It's nothing fancy, just catchy songs, played on wooden instruments, made up while sitting around the kitchen table. Jug band music is the sound of people having a great time. Q: Does the HMJB have its own sound system? A: Yes, their sound system can easily accommodate crowds up to 300 people or so. They need at least an hour and a half to set up and perform sound check before the concert. Q: What kind of a show does the HMJB put on? A: The band prefers to do a two-set concert with a short intermission. The sets are just shy of an hour long. The intermission lets everyone stretch their legs, buy a hot dog and talk with their neighbors about what a good time they're having at the Half Moon Jug Band show. Q: What are those shaggy orange things the drummer is holding? A: They used to be nylon brushes. But sometimes he gets a little carried away. Their dilapidated state is an encouraging sign of his enthusiasm. Q: Where's the jug? A: Well, we don't have a jug player. We'd rather not talk about it. |
